10 acres farmed for 40 years, not specifically for conservation but using traditional methods. No fertilizer used. Grazed by 11 Badger faced sheep & others and 1 horse for management. In 1986 over 1000 trees planted on old cock fighting meadows. Should these trees have been planted on meadow? Surveyed in 2015 by BBNP for flora including Whorled caraway. In mid 1990’s David Bellamy declared it a valuable wetland of exceptional quality. Makes hay late June/July in fields grazed to March/April.
